COSMETIC DENTISTRY
Q. Will it
hurt?
A. Dentistry today can be almost
painless with the use of local anesthetics and nitrous oxide.
Q. How much will it
cost?
A. The cost of dentistry varies
depending on what treatment is needed. An initial examination and
consultation is $79.00. A full set of radiographs is $142.00
Q. What should I do
first?
A. It is recommended that
everyone have their teeth and oral cavity checked twice a year.
Q. Does teeth whitening
really work and what are the different methods?
A. Yes it does! It can brighten
almost everyone's smile. We offer in office and at home bleaching systems.
We also have whitening strips.
Q. Do you apply braces?
A. Yes we use the new OrthoClear
Aligners
Q. What about dentures?
A. I do treat patients who are in need
of full mouth reconstruction including dentures and partials and I now
offer a revolutionary implant system to solve those loose denture problems .
Q. Should I have my old
silver fillings replaced with natural color fillings?
A. I do recommend replacing them.
Q. When do you recommend
a root canal?
A. I recommend a root canal when the
tooth is dying and may be symptomatic. Therapy can be almost painless.
Q. When are caps
necessary?
A. A cap is another term for crown. A
crown protects a tooth from further destruction and restores a tooth to
full function.
Q. Are veneers the same
as caps?
A. No, a veneer is a porcelain
facing that covers the front of a tooth and wraps around the interproximal
and bite areas. A veneer can close spaces and improve the appearance of
one's smile.
Q. What is bonding?
A. Bonding is the placement of a
tooth colored porcelain filling. Small spaces can be filled in with bonding
and treatment can be completed in one appointment.
